I'm Back!

After a long hiatus, I am back writing.  The other night, I spent a long time reading through my first blog, The Schreibers.  I started it in 2008 and wrote for years, sharing funny memories about growing up, celebrating family milestones and more. As I was reading the old blog, I couldn’t put it down.  I found myself laughing hysterically and also weeping, perhaps somewhat ugly tears at times. But I realized how much joy it brought me to use my creative writing skills to share stories with my family. 

When Timmy was a baby and went through a bone marrow transplant, I created another blog, Timmy’s Tales (which is no longer active, sadly), to share updates on his recovery with family and friends.  It was an amazingly cathartic exercise to get me through the long years of his recovery.  He is doing swimmingly by the way and is almost a teenager for anyone reading that is not in the know.  More on him later! 

I dabbled with a third blog of this same name back around 2016 but life just got busy.  And truthfully, I lost some of my inspiration for writing.  I was busy working, raising a kiddo, and trying to assimilate in a new community.  So, after about a year, I threw in the towel.

Life has changed a lot for me since then.  I will share more on the good and the bad in posts to come but the gist is that I want to write again.  I NEED to write again. The funny thing is that I don’t totally know what I’m going to say! Family is everything to me so you can expect me to share great memories and stories about Timmy and my big, awesome Schreiber crew.  I have the best friends in the world so expect to hear about them here.  I also have a long-standing career in the world of public relations (where I also write a lot) so perhaps I will talk about that.  And I have also been through a lot as a mom, wife, sister and daughter so maybe I’ll share on that too.  I guess you will just have to visit the blog every so often to see what I might have to say!  And I hope you do!  And share, share, share.  The best part of all my past blogs are the comments and engagement from readers.  So, here I go!  XOXO
